Topspot: megacombo in Vietnam

Vietnam isn't really a country known for it's vast wealth. Political power has been in the hands of the Communist Party of Vietnam since 1976. It seems some are more equal than others, because this megacombo has been spotted in the biggest city of Vietnam: Ho Chi Minh city.

There's no denying in the fact that you have to be quite wealthy to be able to afford one of the cars featuring in this combo. De Bugatti Veyron is the leader of the pack in terms of price. In Vietnam the Veyron costed about 1,4 million dollars when it was new. How can you have such a vast amount of money in a communist country? Well, the owner of the Veyron is the vice managing director of the 'Long Thanh Plastic Company Ltd.', one of the biggest manufacturers of plastics in Vietnam. I guess there are some western influences in the country after all...

Anyway, while the Veyron might win at almost every category in a game of Top Trumps, that doesn't mean we have to disregard all the other cars. The 650S looks extremely well in orange and the SLS AMG is a future classic, just like the Aventador and the 458: all three they are a part of the last generation of naturally aspirated supercars. Their successors (in case of the Aventador the new flagship-Lamborghini that will unavoidably be announced in a couple of years) all make good use of turbochargers.

The cars stand out even more on the pictures because they don't really seem to fit the environment. It's almost as though they came from another planet! It becomes quite clear here that countries like Vietnam still have a long way to go before they are on the level of the 'first world' in terms of development. The two factors that make a spot a topspot are at least fulfilled: nice cars and a fascinating environment. Enjoy!
