There's another one: a new Veyron competitor

Every now and then we see some news about new companies on the automotive market. Sometimes we even hear about new companies who’re trying to build a car to beat the already legendary Bugatti Veyron. We already saw the Belgian company Minerva and Icona Vulcano. Now we have another company for you. Entepreneur Paul Halstead has designed an Australian supercar.

He recently announced his plans to build his own supercar with his own car design and development company, which has the name HAL. Just like the Bugatti Veyron, this car will get a W16, but in a different situation. Bugatti’s W16 engine consists two 4.0 liters V8 engines which are combined to one 8.0 liters W16 engine. The HAL will have two 7.0 liters V8 engines which are combined to a massive 14.0 liters W16 engine. They need such large engines to beat the four big turbos from the Bugatti. The 1200 hp which will be produced by the HAL engine get to the rear wheels via a six speed gearbox. To make the car even faster, Paul Halstead uses a lot of carbon fiber in the car. The design is inspired by the also legendary McLaren F1, which is characterized by the central seat of the driver. Halstead tries to finish his car before the Auorama Hot Rod event in Detroit in 2016.
