One of the most famous designers in the world is Ralph Lauren. His estimated capital is multiple billions and he uses his money to finance his biggest hobby, collecting cars. The New Yorker, born in 1939, has a beautiful house in North East New York, one of the most expensive areas in the United States. In one of the cities in this area, New Canaan, he was spotted with his RUF CTR3.
We can advice all spotters to visit these small cities like Greenwich and New Canaan. Not only very wealthy people live here, they also own a lot of beautiful cars which have to be spotted. Recently, a very rare Ferrari 250 GT LWB California Spyder was spotted in Greenwich. Ralph Lauren’s RUF is a completely different car, his CTR3 is a hypermodern supercar.
It’s remarkable that Ralph Lauren is spotted in such a modern car. Those who took a closer look at his collection in 2011 at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Louvre, knows that the biggest part of his collection consists classics. This collection is one of the most beautiful in the world including a Ferrari 250 GTO, Ferrari 250 LM, Porsche 550 Spyder and McLaren F1. His collection is worth more than 100 million Euros. One of his highlights was present at this year’s Villa d’Este, the Bugatti 57SC Atlantic uit 1938. This car won the ‘Coppa d’Oro Villa d’Este’ price.
Ralph Lauren paid around half a million for this RUF. It isn’t very strange that this designer chose for the RUF. Alois Ruf is someone who, just like Ralph Lauren, loves the classic style in a modern mix. We see this at all the models RUF makes. RUF isn’t a tuner just like Mansory or Hamann Motorsport. The CTR3 is a modern supercar with the appearance of an old race car from the fifties. This car is based on the Porsche Cayman. A compact 3.8 liters six-cylinder engine produces 777 hp and 980 Nm of torque. The CTR3 needs only three seconds to reach 100 kph and is capable of a top speed of 370 kph. What an amazing car! We hope to see Ralph Lauren drive this car more often!
