Porsche 992 Carrera, start of a turbo-charged era

The end of the turbo-less era of the Porsche Carrera is near. With the introduction of the 991 Carrera MkII we could see the writing on the wall. Starting in 2019, when we expect the 992 Carrera to be introduced, all Carrera engines will be turbo-charged. Porsche is already working hard on the 992 Carrera, and the new car was recently spotted, testing in the cold Arctic Circle.

We can clearly see the 992 Carrera in a production outfit with the necessary camouflage. Porsche is trying to hid the new design, of course, but we can see a few new features that we recognize of the new Panamera. The big news is that all 992 models will have turbo-charged engines. Even the GT3 will receive a turbo that will produce more than 500 hp and a hug amount of torque. Luckey it will take some time before the 992 will take the place of the 991, and in the mean time we can expect some exciting limited editions. Among those is the 991 GT2 RS that will hit the market in 2017!
