Paying a visit to Rennspeed!

There aren't that many people around who turned their passion into their earnings. For him it is something which started at age 21, and now became a full time occupation for Bas. It's not only buying Porsches, Lamborghinis and in the future also Ferraris, but also maintaning, taking care and adoring these cars. In the Dutch town of Loosdrecht we get acquainted with a special company with a expressive name: Rennspeed.

Rennspeed is the unabbreviated name of what Porsche meant with RS. Ever since his younger years, owner Bas is in love with the brand, which resulted in buying himself a Porsche. He couldn't afford the maintainance and reparing however, so he was forced to do this himself. With the right manuals, information and knowledge he didn't only repair his car, but also cared it extremely passionately. What this eventually led to, can be seen in the showroom. Five dark Porsches and one bright Lamborghini Murciélago are parked here, Bas also wants to add Ferraris to it in the future. The posters hanging on the wall don't only bring the place alive, but also show the direction the company wants to head into.

The showroom is a real men cave. There isn't only a beautiful bar where you can enjoy all the beautiful cars around with friends, in the 'living room' there's a gorgeous sitting area where a big playseat invites you to push the digital throttle right to the bottom. Of course with a view of the cars inside, that's what it's all about. The physical presence of the sportcars brings an magical atmosphere to the place, you can enjoy all cars whenever you want.

The eventual idea behind Rennspeed is not only to buy and sell the most beautiful, young, used and classical cars, but also to take care of them. No lose ends will be found, Rennspeed sets everything at the stake to maintain the top condition of the cars. Not only every car is examined individually, also they undergo a inspection with 300 points before the car is bought. After that, they evaluate the costs to bring the car back into a showroom fresh condition. Only when it's really worth effort, the car is bought after which follows a long time of repair and caring. Two cars where they really undisturbed every penny are the Porsche 930 Turbo and 964 Turbo.

Just as Bas says himself: 'After an sale inspection at Porsche Centrum Gelderland the maintainance of the cars a divided into three catagories: 'absolutely necessary', 'recommended' and 'not necessary', but to make things perfect, you just have to do it.'' For these Porsches, we did all the necessary, as you can see. The cars are perfect under the bonnet, look completely showroom fresh, but still have all original parts, stickers and other gimmicks. It's a completely different job which costed a lot of money, which shows how far Rennspeed is prepared to go. The cars are perfect for a reason, and Rennspeed's very proud of that.

The Porsche 964 Turbo is a lot of show but also a lot of go, as the specs tell us. The standard 300 bhp is boosted up to 400 bhp. This because of the addition of a bigger intercooler and turbo. It is, together with the at least as pefrefct 930 Turbo, the most refined piece of technique the showroom offers. The attention to detail and depth of the black paint fires imagination, in combination with the black interior. It was a big quest, which eventually ended in the United States. Yes, the best pearls mostly can't be found just around the corner.

As a Porsche-fan, Bas' daily drive is a technically not original Porsche 997 Turbo MkI. With 620 bhp it has over 100 bhp more than the original, something which really comes alive with the manual gearbox with racing clutch. According to Bas, you never get bored or acclimatized. Can we bust these words? You will find out soon!

Rennspeed tries to grow a lot over the coming years in its near area, which already is quite Porsche-minded, and play a bigger role in that scene. They also try to combine this passion with sociability, as proved by their Cars & Coffee which they organize each first Sunday of the month. This Sunday you're welcome from 10.00 AM until 12.00 AM in Loosdrecht to take a look in the showroom and enjoy the cars of the visitors. The previous, first edition already was quite a success!
