One of the Rarest Mercedes: The SLS AMG Electric Drive

For those who may not know or have forgotten, yes, the SLS was available as a fully electric version. It's essential to note that this was a niche product with very few in existence. Regular customers couldn't purchase this creation.

Occasionally, this fascinating electric car reappears. Of course, most of us prefer the version with eight cylinders, but this model is incredibly rare. Only nine units left the Mercedes factory.
The SLS AMG Electric Drive was powered by four independent electric motors, one at each wheel. This all-wheel-drive system delivered impressive performance and traction. The four electric motors generated a total output of 740 horsepower and a massive 1,000 Nm of torque. This allowed for a 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) acceleration in just 3.9 seconds. The vehicle was equipped with a high-capacity 60 kWh lithium-ion battery, providing a range of approximately 250 kilometers (155 miles) under real-world conditions. Compared to current electric cars like the EQS, it could only go about half as far. The EQS, in its highest configuration, has a range of approximately 575 kilometers (357 miles). However, even that might not be enough for longer journeys. If a fast charging station was available, it could fully charge the car in three hours, but at that time, fast charging stations were not widely spread, so recharging the battery required more time.
The SLS AMG Electric Drive featured various driving modes, including a high-performance sport mode and an energy-saving eco mode to maximize range. The electric car was electronically limited to a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) to extend battery life. The vehicle had near-perfect weight distribution, combined with the all-wheel-drive system and the low placement of the battery in the vehicle, providing excellent stability and handling.
The SLS AMG Electric Drive was produced in limited quantities, making it an incredibly exclusive vehicle. It's one of the rarest Mercedes models ever, with just nine vehicles manufactured. Naturally, it was more expensive than most other electric cars on the market. The design of the SLS AMG Electric Drive closely resembled the classic SLS AMG but retained some unique elements that indicated its electric drive technology.
