No turbos for the next generation of the Aventador

With all the environmental restrictions there is no escape, the V12 and V8 naturally aspired engines are slowly being replaced by Turbocharged engines with less cylinders. But Lamborghini isn't ready to implement a Turbocharged engine in its flagship, yet!

Lamborghini's CEO Stefano Domenicali confirmed in an interview that the naturally aspired V12 will be retained in the next generation of the Aventador. Lamborghini's flagship model “will remain a very, very specific car” and that’s why it will always be more special than Huracan and other models in the line-up. Lamborghini’s CEO went on to say why the Aventador is “totally different, because it remains our reference point for being Lamborghini.” We don't expect the new generation soon, especially now that Lamborghini launched the Aventador S. It might be another 5-6 years before we see a new flagship.

The Turbo engine will soon find its place in the Lamborghini line-up. The production-ready Urus will have the 4.0 liter V8 bi-turbo engine developed by Porsche. This is the same engine that is used in the Panamera Turbo that produces 550 hp, with some minor tweaks to make it even more powerful, according to the CEO it will be the most powerful SUV in its class. We can't wait to see the specs!

Geen turbo’s voor de opvolger van de Aventador
