Maserati's SUV will be a German-Italian cocktail

Lamborghini just started the development of the imposing Urus, Maserati is way further in the development of their SUV. The Levante is coming in 2015 and new details about this sporty SUV are now leaked.

The name Levante comes from the street ‘Via Emilia Levante’ in Bologna where the founders of the company decided to start the company Maserati. Everyone who’ve seen the Kubang concept car and wasn’t very positive about this car can be happy, the concept car is just the beginning. The final design will be a German-Italian mix of the BMW X6 and Porsche Cayenne. Just like other sporty SUVs this won’t be a static car like the Range Rover.

You can choose between three engines which can also be found in the new Quattroporte. This will be a biturbo V6 producing 410 hp, a biturbo V8 producing 530 hp and eventually a diesel engine. Under the bodywork, the car will share a lot of technique with the current Jeep Grand Cherokee. Still, the car will get a completely different character to become a real Maserati. Eventually, the SUV won’t be build in the United States or Italy. The demand for the Grand Cherokee in the United States is too big to produce the car in this country. Where Maserati will build the car is something we don’t know yet.
