The possession of a supercar is almost always positive but everything has a disadvantage. Think of speeding tickets and the consumption of a supercar. Lamborghini can’t help you to get less speeding tickets but they can help you to get a lower fuel consumption. The Italians have introduced two new novelties for the Aventador LP700-4 which make the car more environmental friendly.

The first novelty is a start and stop system which can turn the car on and off in just 180 milliseconds. You can’t enjoy the lovely sound of the V12 at the traffic lights anymore unless you turn off the button. The system is also three kilograms lighter than the conventional system and weight reduction is very important for Lamborghini.

Even more important is the CDS, Cylinder Deactivation System. This will be activate when you’re cruising at 135 km/h or when you don’t need a lot of power from the V12. When the system detects this, one complete cylinder bank is shut off. This means that only six cylinders are active. The CDS can switch very quickly when you need full power again. It has no effect on the driving of the Aventador LP700-4. The most important are the figures. The consumption of the car decreases with seven percent to sixteen liters per 100 kilometers and the average emission decreased from 398 g/km to 379 g/km.
