VÄTH Automobiltechnik has created a car which combines two of the best features you could have on a car. Lots of power and lots of space. The Mercedes-Benz tuner therefore opted for the ornate CLS Shooting Brake, with it's space at the rear to do your weekly shopping. The result is 846 hp and 1550 liters of luggage space. The boot is the same as the standard, but the power, is definitely not.
The CLS Shooting Brake is one of the most striking models made by Mercedes-Benz. The fact that this isn't the best selling Mercedes-Benz at the moment, makes the CLS Shooting Brake, quite a unique car to see on the roads still. Mercedes-Benz regulates how many Shooting Brakes are in stock at their dealerships. This car, with its coupe-like appearances, is not a real estate, but more of a lifestyle car.
VÄTH chose to tune the most powerful implementation of the current range of CLS's, which of course is the CLS 63 AMG, which has an output of 525 hp, or 557 hp with the performance models. The biturbo powered V8 is then addressed by VÄTH themselves. VÄTH have changed the turbos, the cooling system and the complete exhaust system. It sounds like a simple modification, but it is a lot more complicated in theory. Ultimately, the end result is 846 hp and 1180 Nm of torque. This engine tuning is finally priced at €46,172, and not a penny less. Depending on the tires fitted, the top speed of 350 kilometers per hour is achievable.
Other optional extras include a lowering module, matching rims and a high performance braking system, all of which accounts for further improved performance. In addition, VÄTH utilises carbon fibre in the tuning process of this car, which not only looks sporting, but lightens the car and benefits in performance. What all this cost? The cosmetic options that VÄTH can install onto the CLS costs another € 10,000. But think about it this way, you'll own the ultimate Shooting Brake at the moment.
