For the very first time, a Kimera EVO37 is being showcased, and it's happening in Switzerland. The photographer rpm.ch must have been in awe when this unique car passed by him, adorned in the iconic Martini Racing livery.

Kimera Automobili from Cuneo has built a reputation as a specialist in restoring Italian classics, particularly Lancia models from the '70s and '80s. Since 2021, they have taken on the ambitious task of creating an entirely new car: the Evo 37. However, it's not entirely brand new. The creators drew inspiration from the legendary Lancia 037, which made waves in the rallying scene during the '80s and became the last two-wheel-drive car to secure the manufacturer's title in the Rally World Championship in 1983. The name itself indicates the connection – from 037 to Evo 37. This sets the direction; the new car aims to be an evolution of the original, with Kimera securing the rights to the original components, each one optimized to meet today's technological standards. The foundation of every Evo 37 model is an old Lancia Beta Montecarlo.

The Kimera Automobili Evo 37 bears a striking resemblance to the Lancia 037 Stradale in its overall silhouette. It measures 4.06 meters in length, 1.90 meters in width, and 1.20 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.52 meters. The front features 245/35 tires on 18-inch rims, while the rear boasts 295/30 tires on 19-inch wheels. Stopping power is provided by 365mm discs combined with four-piston calipers on all wheels.

Notable updates include LED lights and generously-sized carbon fiber body parts. The passenger compartment is equipped with a roll cage. Additionally, all suspension components have been modernized, featuring fully adjustable Öhlins shock absorbers. Inside the cockpit, Kimera retains the classic configuration with a flat dashboard and analog instruments, but promises top-notch modern craftsmanship. The handbrake has been converted to hydraulic operation.

Powering the Kimera Evo 37 is a 2.15-liter four-cylinder engine, equipped with both a turbocharger and a supercharger, reminiscent of the historical predecessor's concept. The longitudinally mid-mounted 16-valve engine with dry sump lubrication produces 505 horsepower and reaches a peak torque of 550 Nm. It is mated to a manual six-speed gearbox, and only the rear wheels are driven. Kimera states the weight of the Evo 37 to be around 1,100 kilograms.
