BMW M2 Coupé is here

The 1 Series M, according to Jeremy Clarkson the most fun car ever, gets a successor. We already knew that but we now have some official photos. BMW finally unveiled the M2 Coupé. After a lot of spyshots and rumors the moment is finally here and BMW finally shows the M2 Coupé to the world.

The IAA in Frankfurt was just too early and this show was all about the new BMW 7 Series. BMW gives their customers with the M2 Coupé 370 hp and 465 Nm of torque. That's quite a lot in a car that weighs only 1500 kilograms. BMW's smalles M is powered by a straight six engine which also powers the M235i. This engine pushes the M2 to 100 kph in just 4.5 seconds with a manual gearbox, when you prefer the dual-clutch automatic gearbox you will do the same sprint in just 4.3 seconds. The top speed is 250 kph or 270 kph with the optional Drivers Package. The M2 is a typical M model. A bigger front bumper, four exhausts, a diffuser at the back and of course a new set of wheels. The differential comes from the M3 and M4 which means that it will be a lot of fun to drift with the M2.

The car will standard be available in four colours, Long Beach Blue, Alpine White, Black Sapphire and Mineral Grey. This means that there's not much choice but of course you can always configure your car with BMW Individual.
