Audi shows the Sports Quattro Concept

A combined power of 700 hp and 800 Nm of torque and next to that the ability of shutting off half of the V8. This can result in some economical driving, the car uses only 2.5 liters of fuel on 100 kilometers. We all know that Audi brings the Audi Sports Quattro Concept to the IAA in Frankfurt. But we didn’t know that it would be this awesome.

The 4.0 liters V8 TFSI produces 552 hp and the electric engine produces another 148 hp and 400 Nm of torque. This plug-in hybrid sprints to 100 kph in just 3.7 seconds thanks to the two combined engines attached to an eight speed tiptronic gearbox. Electrically, the car can only drive up to 50 kilometers. After this distance, the combustion engine will be turned on. Audi mounted a set of carbon ceramic brakes on this car to make sure that it will stop in time.

Optically, the car isn’t a big surprise, this concept is based on the Audi Quattro which we already saw in Paris, three years ago. Audi uses the knowledge of Lamborghini because this concept also uses a lot of CFRP (carbon-fiber-reinforced-polymer). You will find this material in the hood, trunk and the roof. Next week, we will show your more footage of this fast Quattro Concept!
