Even though the Lamborghini Murciélago is soon to celebrate its 23rd birthday, its age is not evident at all. It represents the very first Lamborghini that was entirely developed under the supervision of the VW Group.
The name "Murciélago" is derived from a famous fighting bull from the early 20th century, known for being seemingly invincible. Lamborghini continued the tradition of naming its vehicles after fighting bulls. The Murciélago was powered by a potent V12 engine, delivering between 580 and 670 horsepower depending on the model. The version showcased here boasts 580 horsepower, enabling impressive speeds and accelerations. This bull could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. The Murciélago's futuristic and eye-catching design was characterized by its iconic scissor doors, attracting attention wherever it went.
In contrast to some other supercars of its time, the Murciélago featured a permanent all-wheel-drive system, contributing to its excellent traction and handling. Various variants of the Murciélago were produced during its production period, including the Murciélago Roadster and, ultimately, the limited Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce, which simultaneously became the most popular of all Murciélagos. The Murciélago's interior was luxurious and comfortable, providing a stark contrast to its powerful exterior appearance. The Lamborghini Aventador later succeeded the Murciélago, offering advanced technology and improved performance.
This particular Murciélago was indeed spotted for the first time. Its stunning light blue color makes it a true showstopper.
