The SF90 Spider is an exceptional car with a stunning appearance. Its Viola Hongkong color is one of Ferrari's most beautiful offerings, although it is unfortunately not chosen frequently enough.

This SF90 has made its debut on the website for the very first time. It is equally gorgeous and impressive. The SF90 Spider, which is the convertible version of the SF90 Stradale, was unveiled during an exclusive digital event. This online event allowed Ferrari enthusiasts from around the world to have an exclusive preview of the car's innovative features and detailed information about its development.

As Ferrari's first plug-in hybrid spider for production, the SF90 Spider sets new benchmarks for performance and innovation, not only within Ferrari's range but also across the entire sports car sector. It shares the same extreme supercar specifications and record-breaking performance as the SF90 Stradale but adds even more driving pleasure and versatility with the latest iteration of Ferrari's retractable hard top architecture. This makes the SF90 Spider the perfect choice for owners who seek the pinnacle of Ferrari technology while desiring the thrill of open-top driving.

The retractable hard top (RHT) was chosen once again due to its ability to provide optimal noise insulation and protection from the elements when raised. It remains stable at high speeds, ensuring exceptional occupant space and comfort. The RHT is compact, simple, and lightweight, allowing it to be operated in just 14 seconds, even while the car is in motion. The Ferrari RHT, which was first introduced on the 458 Spider in 2011 and has undergone continuous improvements, occupies only 100 liters of space, compared to the 150-200 liters required by traditional systems. Additionally, its aluminum construction makes it approximately 40 kg lighter than a conventional retractable hard top. When the RHT is lowered, an adjustable electric rear window ensures excellent occupant comfort, even at high speeds.

Similar to the SF90 Stradale, the Ferrari SF90 Spider offers an optional specification package, called the Assetto Fiorano pack, for owners who want to push its track-focused performance to the extreme. This package includes exclusive upgrades such as Multimatic shock absorbers derived from Ferrari's GT racing experience and optimized for track use. It also incorporates high-performance materials like carbon fiber and titanium, reducing the car's weight by 21 kg. Other enhancements include a carbon-fiber rear spoiler and road-homologated Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires designed to enhance track performance in dry conditions, thanks to a softer compound and fewer grooves. Furthermore, the Assetto Fiorano package offers an optional two-tone livery that further emphasizes the car's racing character.

The SF90 Spider represents a first for Ferrari production spiders with its plug-in hybrid architecture. It integrates an internal combustion engine with two electric motors at the front, known as the RAC-e (Cornering Angle Regulator, Electric) system, and one at the rear derived from and named after a Formula 1 innovation, the MGUK (Motor Generator Unit, Kinetic). The synergy between the internal combustion engine and the electric motors allows the SF90 Spider to unleash a maximum power output of 1,000 cv, placing it at the pinnacle not only within Ferrari's road car range but also within its category.

The powertrain architecture of the Ferrari SF90 Spider consists of a V8 turbo internal combustion engine, an 8-speed DCT with E-diff, the RAC-e electric front axle with two independent electric motors that also provide all-electric propulsion, the MGUK electric motor located at the rear between the engine and the gearbox, the high voltage battery, and the electric motor control system (inverter).

In addition to an impressive 780 cv (and a specific power output of 195 cv/l), the V8 engine delivers 60 cv more than any previous V8 turbo engine developed by Ferrari. Achieving this extraordinary result required Ferrari's engineers to completely redesign the intake and exhaust systems. The ducts are now horizontally aligned at the engine head height to enhance internal fluid dynamics. The turbocharger assembly has been positioned lower, while the exhaust line is higher. This rationalization not only lowered the car's center of gravity but also reduced its overall weight by utilizing Inconel for the exhaust manifold instead of steel.
