If you're in the market for something close to the experience of driving a tank on the public roads, consider getting a 6x6 from Mercedes. This particular model, while not entirely original, as it doesn't belong to the series of the 140 original G63 AMG 6x6, was initially a standard G55. It underwent a transformation by Kubay Design, though you'd never guess that as a layman. The car is just as impressive as the original 6x6.
The G63 AMG boasts a modern 4.0-liter V8 Biturbo, delivering not only power but also improved fuel efficiency. In contrast, the G55 AMG features an older 5.4-liter V8 Kompressor engine. These differences are reflected in the performance and the overall driving experience. While the G63 AMG is available with 7-speed or 9-speed automatic transmissions, the G55 AMG typically came with a 5-speed automatic transmission. Of course, the price plays a significant role. While a G63 6x6 demands a price tag of over a million, the G55 AMG is priced well below a million euros.
