There aren't a lot of cars which get more expensive every year. The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster is a car in this category. The current owner wants to get almost two million Dollars for his convertible and that's way more than the 1.5 million Dollars he needed to pay when he bought the car. Time to take a closer look at this special car of which only six copies are built. This model is one from the very rare Super Sport series.
Only two CLK GTRs are equipped with the Super Sports package which comes from H.W.A., which stands for Hans-Werner Aufrecht and this company is a spin-off of AMG and they make the car just a bit more extreme. You can say that it's the predecessor of the Black Series. They replaced the 6.9 liters V12 for a 7.3 liters version. A 7.3 liters V12, this engine must ring a bell by some of you. This is the engine from the legendary Pagani Zonda and Mercedes-Benz SL 73 AMG. This engine produces 664 hp and 786 Nm of torque in the CLK GTR Roadster. This makes you sprint to 100 kph in just 3.8 seconds.
The exterior of the CLK GTR Roadster looks like a race car because it served as a homologation model. in 2002, the CLK GTR Roadster was built as a special model, after 26 normal CLK GTRs were produced. This made the CLK GTR legal to compete in the FIA GT1-championship. The car is extremely long and low and we can't say that it's beautiful. The big spoiler on the back, the pointed nose and the big diffuser make people think they're on the track when they're driving behind this.
However, when you have enough money, this is the chance to buy one!
