Volvo is known for their afford to make their cars as safe as possible for decades. First this was always judged as boring, but over the last decade Volvo is working hard to show itself as a manufacturer of sporty and though cars. Due the collaboration with the Polestar Team of Volvo the imago was improved massively. Last year this team built the S60 Polestar Performance Concept, which can be admired at the moment, on the Chicago Motor Show.
The bright blue Polestar-models show what are the posibilities for Volvo when it comes to sportivity. From now on customers can choose for this design-line which includes sportier looks and engine-tuning. Buying a real C30 Polestar or S60 Polestar Performance Concept isn’t possible, unfortunately. The S60 Polestar was officially made for a rich customer in the United Arabic Emirates, but the reactions were so positive that we can imagine Volvo considering whether they should put the car into production or not. The blue monster from Göteborg is more than just a mean looking saloon car, it is also better than its concurrent from Germany!
But what’s that magic that makes this car so quick? It’s a six cylinder engine, pushing out 508 bhp and 575 Newtonmeters. Only 3.9 seconds are required to sprint to hundred kilometers per hour, the topspeed is over three hundred kilometers per hour. So, it’s a serious threat for supercars. But what makes this car even more special, is the combination of an outrageous colour and beautiful carbon fiber accents. This really shows sportivity and flexibility, something we can’t see that clear at its German concurrents.
