Chicago Motor Show 2013: Jaguar F-Type

With temperatures around zero degrees in Chicago, it isn’t the ideal moment to take the Jaguar F-Type for a spin. The F-Type will only be available as a roadster and this means we just have to wait for spring before we can drive this car. That’s the perfect moment to enjoy a car like this one. But luckily, it’s hot enough on the Chicago Motor Show to take a look at the F-Type.

Jaguar offers the F-Type in three versions. Those who can’t spend too much money on their dream car can choose for the F-Type with a V6 in the front of the car. This model has 340 bhp and reaches a top speed of 260 kph. The car has a central exhaust at the back. This is Jaguar’s way to refer to the classic F-Type. The same is done with the exterior, a long nose and a short rear make it a classical roadster. The next version is the F-Type S which has an extra 40 horsepower. The exterior is almost the same besides the S-logo on the car.

The real fireworks start with the F-Type V8 S. The five liters V8 is something we already know from Jaguar, they also offer this engine on the XK and XF. The V8 S has a power of 495 bhp and 625 Nm of torque. Without any trouble, the car will sprint to 100 kph in 4.3 seconds, thanks to the Quickshift-transmission. The V6 version needs an extra seconds for this sprint. Next to that, the V8 has an more sporty look and better looking bumpers, bigger wheels and four exhausts at the back.
