Last week, Audi presented the R8 LMX with laser high beam lights. This special version is limited to only 99 copies of which the first will hit the streets this summer. Other extras of the R8 LMX are the 5.2 liter V10 which produces 570 hp which results in a great performance and the exclusive details in the interior as well as the exterior.
The R8 LMX continues the Audi tradition. In 2008, the Audi R8 was the first production car with complete LED lighting, in 2010 Audi introduced the A8 Navigation based Lighting. In 2012, the renewed R8 was available with dynamic indicators and in 2013 the Matrix LED technology was introduced on the renewed A8. During the development of the laser light technology, the R8 engineers cooperated closely with their colleagues of the sports departmant: the R8 e-tron quattro race cars which will compete in the 24 hours of Le Mans use the same technology.
The R8 LMX has a 5.2 liter V10 which produces 570 hp and 540 Nm of torque. The V10 is attached to the sevenspeed S tronic transmission with double clutch. The R8 LMX sprints to 100 kph in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 320 kph.
You can recognize the R8 LMX on several unique details. This starts with the special colour named Ara blue. The big spoiler on the back and other aerodynamic components are made out of carbon fiber. The interior has several blue accents which stand out. The sports seats are furbished with nappa leather with a diamond pattern in the colour Sepang blue.
