Another Italian Topspot: The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss

This Stirling Moss was recently spotted in Mantova, Italy. On one hand, it's undeniably a noteworthy Topspot, and on the other, this specimen has never been seen before.

Beneath the Stirling Moss lies a Mercedes and McLaren-built SLR, but this car differs significantly from all other SLRs one can buy. From the outside, it's immediately apparent that this car lacks a windshield. This was extremely unique for its time. Nowadays, many cars do not have windshields. Back then, there were very few sports cars that had them. Although this is an old technique in the world of sports cars, most ancient sports cars didn't have proper windshields; there was only a tiny pane.

The SLR McLaren Stirling Moss was named after the famous British racing driver Stirling Moss, who achieved numerous successes for Mercedes-Benz in the 1950s. This model was produced only for a short period, from 2009 to 2010. In total, only 75 units were manufactured, making it an extremely rare and sought-after collector's item.
The Stirling Moss stands out with its breathtaking, futuristic design. It has no windshield or roof, giving it a unique appearance reminiscent of classic racing cars from bygone eras. Under the hood of the Stirling Moss lies a powerful 5.4-liter V8 supercharged engine that produces an impressive 650 horsepower. This enables acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds and a top speed of around 350 km/h.
