Adding some extra horsepower: the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT

Extra horsepower to stay ahead of infamous competitors. The Ferrari 458 is beaten in any way but soon that will all be over when the 458 “Scuderia” is being introduced. We are talking about the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT that now has 591 bhp instead of 571 bhp. A little step forward to compensate the waiting for the SLS AMG Black Series. Buying advice? Don’t do it! Just wait for the SLS AMG Black Series or go to a tuner if you want more power.

Of course adding more power is not the only thing they did at AMG. The acceleration barge is modified, the chassis is made more stiff and therefore there is no comfort mode anymore. This means you are going around the circuit like a rocket! The standard version of the SLS AMG GT is equipped with 19 inch rims up front and 20 inch rims at the back. The torque has not been changed and therefore remains to be 650 Nm. How will that affect the performance? 0-60 miles per hour is done in 0,1 seconds less. Namely 3,7 seconds. The top speed is around 2 miles per hour higher and adds up to 199 miles per hour. Not very impressive and at Mercedes they also know how to sell new products by introducing several limited editions. The price for this race monster in Germany is around 205.000 Euros. The SLS AMG GT will only be available as of October this year. By that time we will know a lot more about the SLS AMG Black Series.
