A Mclaren Senna GTR for the public road...

A McLaren Senna is a rare supercar that you don't see every day. But seeing a Senna GTR on a public road is utterly mind-blowing. That's exactly what susussin14 managed to do in Sant Julià de Lòria, Andorra.

The McLaren Senna is one of the most radical, fastest, and track-ready sports cars money can buy. So, what could be more fitting than making it even more radical, faster, and track-ready? Already a year ago, the English supercar manufacturer showcased the Senna GTR Concept at the Geneva Motor Show 2018, giving us a glimpse of what such a machine would look like. Now, the Senna GTR is entering limited production.

Powering the Senna GTR is the most powerful version of the M840TR 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. It delivers 825 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. The additional 25 horsepower come from revised engine electronics and the removal of the secondary catalytic converter, which reduces exhaust back pressure. McLaren notes that the absence of the catalytic converter also enhances the acoustic experience. Like the Senna, the power is sent to the rear wheels via the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. For practical reasons (shorter exhaust paths, reduced weight and complexity), the cool side-exiting exhaust pipes seen on the concept have been relocated to the rear. McLaren has not yet released performance figures for the Senna GTR. The road-legal Senna goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 340 km/h.

However, it is important to note that the Senna GTR is a pure track car! So, why does this particular example have a license plate and drive on public roads? Well, that's because it comes from Lazante, a company that specializes in making every McLaren road-legal. Considering how breathtaking the regular Senna is, the GTR must be the ultimate version in terms of performance and intensity.
