Silent on the Nürburgring: Audi R8 E-tron

Early 2016, the electric version of the R8 will be available. That's more than eight months after its introduction on the Geneva Motor Show. Audi probably wasn't completely ready and that's why they postponed the production. The R8 E-tron was recently spotted on the Nürburgring while it was doing some testing laps.

The camouflage for the R8 E-tron isn't that necessary anymore because we already know what the car looks like. Mercedesfreak can often be found near the Nürburgring and he often manages to take some nice photos. The combustion engine of the R8 is removed and made room for two electric engines which are installed on the rear axle. These engines produce a combined power of 456 hp and 920 Nm of torque. This makes the R8 E-tron sprint to 100 kph in just 3.9 seconds. The battery pack of the R8 consists 92 kWh and with normal driving you will have a range of 450 kilometers. This will probably be less when you drive the car in real life.
