Geneva 2015: Lexus GS F

Those who are shopping for a sedan with a big V8 can now also take a look at Lexus’ dealerships. In Geneva they show us a GS with a F logo. Just like the RC F, the car is powered by a big V8 without a compressor or two turbos.

This makes the Lexus GS F a unique car in the market. Especially in Germany the competitors are downsizing their engines. The RS7 Sportback is powered by a 4.0 liter twinturbo engine and the BMW M5 is powered by a 4.4 liter V8. AMG is the only competitor with a big engine, a twinturbo 5.5 liter V8. The owner of a GS F does have less power, that’s the only disadvantage of the naturally aspirated V8. The engine produces up to 477 hp and 530 Nm of torque. This makes it the only power sedan with less than 500 hp. An eight speed gearbox transfers the power to the rear wheels. The looks of the GS F are amazing. The car has widened fenders, sporty bumpers and several F logos. You will definitely see that this is a more exclusive model.

The GS F is born at the Fuji track in Japan and is refined at the Nordschleife in Germany. To keep up with the power of the brutal V8, the entire suspension was redesigned and the GS F was also fitted with a new braking system including bright orange calipers. The testing on the Nordschleife turned the GS F into an amazing car which is impressively stable at high speeds and does great in fast corners.
