Ferrari doesn't do this to earn some extra money but they do this to raise money for the victims of the earthquake in Italy. This will bring the number of LaFerraris to 500, although Ferrari might have built some more copies without telling us. Last week, a big earthquake hit Italy which took almost 300 lifes.
The production of the LaFerrari ended in 2015. The LaFerrari Aperta is currently being produced so Ferrari probably had some extra parts in stock for this copy. We don't know when the car will be auctioned but we do know that the entire amount will go to charity. It's not the first time that Ferrari auctions a car for charity. The last produced Ferrari 430 was also auctioned for the victims of another earthquake in Italy, a few years ago.
